RE: Appreciation for Outstanding Service and Care
Dear Dr. Friermood:
This letter is written to you as the Medical Director of Panorama Orthopedics & Spine Center to thank the staff and doctors who provided outstanding medical service, care and advice to me and my wife, Jean.
Dr. Robinson
Last September, I was injured in a mountain climbing accident. My shoulder was dislocated and after quite an ordeal I was treated at a hospital emergency room where my shoulder was put back into place. The doctors in the emergency room advised that I consult an orthopedic surgeon regarding my injury and what I could do to prevent it from occurring in the future. Since I had been a previous client of your Center, I called and asked for an appointment to see a doctor about my shoulder. Great concern was expressed by the appointment person in your office over my condition and she made an appointment for me to see Dr. Robinson within 36 hours. I was impressed by the alacrity with which this appointment was made and the caring attitude exhibited by this staff person.
Considerable attention and kindness were shown to me by Dr. Robinson when I came into to see him. He ordered more x-rays taken of my shoulder which was expeditiously done by your x-ray staff who were gentle with my extremely sore shoulder. Dr. Robinson viewed the new x-rays and then showed me that my glenoid had been fractured. I had plans to fly out of town later that day and he advised me not to fly anywhere and instead to prepare for an operation, (with Dr. McNair) as this would be the most important thing for me to do. My head was spinning at this point, but thanks to the calm manner of Dr. Robinson, he helped quiet my fears. He told me that Dr. McNair was an outstanding trauma and sports medicine surgeon and that he would take the best care of me. How true these words were. I thank Dr. Robinson for the excellent manner in which he treated, diagnosed and cared for me.
Dr. McNair
Less than 24 hours after my meeting with Dr. Robinson, I received a call from Dr. McNair. Let me just say up front that he is in fact one of the most outstanding, caring, sensitive and compassionate physicians I have ever known in my 69 years. He intuitively sensed my fear and allayed it with words of understanding and great comfort. He told me that the MRI confirmed the diagnosis of Dr. Robinson and that an immediate operation was in order.
A couple of days later I met Dr. McNair in person at St. Anthony's Hospital. His confident, relaxed and knowledgeable manner eased the growing fear I was anticipating over the operation. In great detail, he told me (with my wife and son present) about the operation, what he would do to address the fractured glenoid and how he would examine my shoulder for any collateral damage that might have taken place. The friendly way in which he conversed with my wife and son were extraordinary for someone preparing such an operation. He seemed unhurried and kept asking if I had questions or concerns. Again, his words of comfort were as much an elixir as any successful operation. After I awoke from the operation, Dr. McNair visited me, assured me that all had gone well, explained exactly how he had repaired my dislocated shoulder envelope and put three screws in the place where the glenoid had been fractured.
Over the following six months, I made many visits to see Dr. McNair and have him examine my healing shoulder and explain the x-rays which were periodically taken. He made me feel as if I were the most important person on his schedule. The earnest manner of his demeanor and the caring he had for the healing of my entire being, and not just my shoulder, was something I had never experienced before.
Words are inadequate to thank Dr. McNair for all he did for me. He healed my body, mind and soul. He is just not a superb orthopedic surgeon; he is a healer with few or any peers.
Dr. Seemann
This past spring my wife, Jean, experienced considerable knee pain. An appointment was quickly scheduled by your attentive staff with Dr. Seemann. Again, as had been the case with Drs. Robinson and McNair, Dr. Seemann was extremely competent caring and courteous. Jean was full of fear over her knee and what it might signal as limiting her very active life. Following a cautious examination of her knee, Dr. Seemann diagnosed a torn meniscus and advised arthroscopic surgery to mend it. Dr. Seemann was extremely caring and attentive before the operation in explaining exactly how it would be done. During the post-operative meetings with Dr. Seemann, he was unhurried in answering all of questions and giving practical and helpful hints and advice about the healing of Jean's knee. Both Jean and I are deeply grateful for the outstanding care and service given by Dr. Seemann.
Jean and have personally expressed our gratitude to Drs. McNair and Seemann for their care, but we wanted you, as Medical Director, to know how much we appreciate them and all of your staff. Your entire office is run in the most expeditious and commendable manner and we wanted you to know this.
Sincerely,
Samuel P. Guyton
