Meet Jon-Michael Caldwell, M.D.

Dr. Jon-Michael Caldwell is an orthopedic surgeon specializing in sports medicine who treats pain and injuries of the shoulder, elbow, and knee. He cares for athletes of all ages and skill levels, from professional competitors to weekend warriors.

Dr. Caldwell’s expertise focuses on joint preservation and cartilage restoration, ligament and tendon repair, shoulder and elbow replacement, and biologic augmentation techniques. His specialized training includes experience with advanced procedures like ulnar collateral ligament reconstruction (Tommy John surgery) for throwing athletes with elbow injuries.

Dr. Caldwell is passionate about helping patients “truly feel better and do more.” He maintains an active research portfolio focused on rotator cuff and tendon healing, injury prevention, and surgical pain management, continuously working to advance treatment options for his patients. His approach combines innovative surgical techniques with evidence-based care to optimize patient outcomes.

When not working or conducting research, Dr. Caldwell enjoys traveling with his wife, skiing, mountain biking, racquet sports, sailing, diving, and is an accomplished bassist who has appeared on multiple studio albums and music videos.
