Medical icon Sameer Lodha, MD

Sameer Lodha, M.D., is a board-certified orthopedic surgeon, who specializes in the hand, wrist and elbow. After graduating magna cum laude from Harvard University, Dr. Lodha graduated from the Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis. While there, he was elected to the Alpha Omega Alpha medical honor society and was employed as a research analyst. Dr. Lodha completed his orthopedic surgery residency at Rush University Medical Center in Chicago and pursued further training in hand, upper extremity and microvascular surgery through a fellowship at Duke University Medical Center.

Among other things, Dr. Lodha specializes in forearm, wrist and hand fractures; nerve conditions of the upper extremity, including carpal tunnel syndrome; arthritis in the hand; and ligament injuries in the elbow and wrist. He has written several book chapters on fractures, shoulder instability and vascularized grafting. Dr. Lodha has been involved with several research projects addressing arthritis, ligament surgery, fractures and implanted hardware. In addition to English, Dr. Lodha speaks Spanish and Hindi.

When he has time, Dr. Lodha loves reading. Most of his free time is spent with his wife, two children and three dogs. They enjoy travel, skiing, and cooking.
