Sonya grew up in Sioux Falls, South Dakota and earned her Bachelor of Science degree from Truman State University (Missouri) where she was an NCAA All-American swimmer and academic All-American. After completing her undergraduate studies, Sonya worked for several years in a genetics research lab at the University of Colorado. She remained at CU to earn her Master’s degree in Physician Assistant studies. Sonya is a hospital-based ortho trauma PA and has been with Panorama since 2007. Sonya maintains a special interest in wilderness/backcountry medicine. When not working, she enjoys running, cycling, hiking, swimming, and traveling with her husband and 2 children.
